"NAKITA'S BIG QUESTION by Roberta Hoffer is a delightful story book for kids. Nakita is taken to a new home by Amy. She is not lonely anymore. She has a new bed and sleeps in Amy’s room. She realizes that she is not in the city anymore and is now living on a farm where there are lots of other animals. She meets Clara the cow, Percy the pig, and Garth the goose, but her best friend is Cassandra the cat. Nakita is leading a comfortable and happy life on the farm, unlike the lonely time when she was in the pen. Nakita finds out from Cassandra that she is a dog. What kind of dog is Nakita? Will she get to know that? Will anyone answer that big question for her? The book has a good educational theme where kids are exposed to farm life, idyllic scenes and the different types of animals found on a farm. They have a lot of new things to learn from this book. The illustrations are lively and they give movement to the characters and the scenes. This will make a perfect bedtime story book and can also be used for read aloud sessions in libraries and classrooms. Books like this are good for children because they not only help youngsters to read and understand through pictures, they also help to envision life in a farm, learn about new animals and many new concepts which will widen young readers' thinking." ~ reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers Favorite [FIVE STARS]
